FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT WEDDING AND Quinceañera PHOTOGRAPHY
Hello. Thank you for considering me as your professional photographer for your very special event. I have included below answers to frequently asked questions about wedding photography.
How long have you been doing photography?
I have been a professional photographer for over 25 years and specialize in wedding and portraits. I belong to Professional Photographers of America and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. I have also been named as one of El Paso's top wedding photographers.
What is the engagement session?
With any wedding package, you receive a free engagement session at a location of your choice. Couples often like a park setting. This photo session is done about one month before your event. The photoshoot takes approximately two hours. I shoot about 100 pics during that session and you choose about 40-45 of your favorites and I make a slideshow that you can show at your reception/dance. The show is on a USB that can be viewed on your computer or hi definition tv. Be sure to check with your venue to see if the hall has the appropriate equipment to display your slideshow.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is $300 and that will reserve the date for you. The deposit is applied to the chosen package.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. I accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Texas sales tax is also applied.
Do you have payment plans?
After the deposit is made you may make payments, and the balance is due 1 week before your event.
Do you charge by the hour?
My fees are based on your chosen package. I begin with the getting ready photos usually at the home and finish close to the end of the reception/dance. I only charge per hour if you require limited time.
Do you offer video?
Since my specialty is "still" photography I work with a professional videographer. With our separate specialties, we can provide you with the highest quality photos and video. The videographer does his own separate billing as do I. If you would like to see samples of our work, we can arrange to be seen together with you to discuss your needs for your event.
Are you the only photographer?
I often train other photographers who may accompany me and take photos. I carefully screen their photos and use only the ones I approve and those photos remain my property. I do not charge extra for an additional photographer-in-training unless the bride and groom specifically request an additional professional. Any extra photos from a photographer in training is just a plus for you. If an additional professional photographer is requested, the fee is $400.
Do you travel out of town for weddings or events?
Yes I do. For destination events there is a fee per mile when driving plus any additional expenses such as a hotel, meals, etc if there is an overnight stay.
How many photos do you take?
I take approximately 700 to 800 photos throughout your event. You receive a USB of all the original digital files (JPGs) and a release form so you can print extra copies of your photos. All the JPG files are full resolution images.
Do you print your own photos?
No. All photos are processed by a professional photo lab to insure the highest quality and longevity.
How can my family and friends see the photos?
I will be passing out cards at your event with an internet site where all the photos will be posted (usually 10 days following the event.) The site is password protected and the cards will have the passcode for viewing and/or purchasing the photos. The photos will remain online for 60 days.
When will I receive my photos?
Since you will receive a USB of your images, you can choose the photos from there. Once the images have been selected you will receive the final prints within 10 days. The album will take approximately 30 days after the images are sent to the album company.
Thank you for your time and please do not hesitate to call for additional information or to make an appointment to see more of my work. I will be happy to answer all of your questions. It is important to make an informed choice of a photographer for one of the most important events of your life.
